To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, The United Public School organized a series of environmental awareness activities on 5 June 2026, with enthusiastic participation from students and staff members. The programme aimed to instill environmental consciousness and encourage students to become responsible stewards of nature.
As part of the celebration, the students of Grade VII actively participated in a plogging initiative titled “Swachh Varkada.” The students combined physical activity with environmental service by collecting litter along designated routes, thereby promoting cleanliness and environmental responsibility. Their dedicated efforts reflected the spirit of community service and highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Simultaneously, the students of Grade VIII ” Walk for Mother Earth” participated in an awareness rally to uphold and promote the theme of World Environment Day. Carrying placards with impactful environmental messages and slogans, the students marched enthusiastically, spreading awareness about environmental conservation, sustainable living, and the collective responsibility of protecting our planet.
The event was formally inaugurated by Mr. Joseph Stalin at the foothills of Barlikadu, marking the commencement of the day’s activities. In his address, he emphasized the significance of environmental protection and encouraged the students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The programme witnessed active participation, discipline, and commitment from all the students. The activities served as a meaningful reminder that every individual has a role to play in preserving the environment for future generations.
The World Environment Day celebration concluded successfully, reinforcing the message that small actions, when undertaken collectively, can lead to significant positive changes for our planet.
