Gandhi Jayanthi is a national festival celebrated in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who was born on 2nd October 1869. The UN General Assembly announced on 15th June 2007 and adopted a resolution and declared the 2nd October as the international day of non-violence. The United public school gathered here to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
